An uncommon forageable!

Mortar fruit is known for hanging high in the trees. They developed hard shells to protect the fruit inside from most fauna.
It's common to find them already cracked open after being dropped from a great height.

Mortar fruit has to be cracked open, similarly to how one might use a pestle and mortar to grind things down- once cracked open, the inside is described to taste sweet and also feels slimy.
The slime from inside is used in medicine to treat sore throats, or also used on burns to keep the skin hydrated.

The slime is also used in crafting a glue-like substance in building, or also in potions.
